Rhonda just had her 1st anniversary of running 5K's on Thanksgiving. I am trying to convince her to run in the Pittsburgh Marathon this spring. I think she wants to get a relay team together.

Robert Cray Band is coming to the Palace Theatre

Here is a video I took when we recently saw them in Nashville. He was really good. Of course, no fried pickles at the Palace. It is nice that Greensburg is offering a venue with good shows. Get tickets if they are still available. Monday, August 18.

Latest 5K: Mt Carmel 5k in Crabtree

Rhonda and I had great fun at the Crabtree race. We ate good food at the church festival. Got really cool shirts. Won Carbones Italian dressing and Rizzo's sauce. I placed and won a cool little trophy.

We ran on July 4. It was a great day for a run. I ran back to finish with Rhonda. For the record, I am wearing progressive addition high index transition lenses in a Lucky Brand frame. I love my progressives. I can do anything in them. I don't even realize that I am wearing bifocals!Times:

Progressives actually do take a little time to get use to. Now, they work fine. They only took a couple of days to get use to.

We painted the exam room Saturday night. I hate painting. Worse yet, it needs another coat. Like a fool, I made a deal with Dr. Laughlin and now I have to put the second coat on!

I think the frames are pretty cool. Retro cool, but Dr. Laughlin doesn't quite agree yet. It is from a new line of frames. Lucky Brand Spectacles. I think they are very cool.

I am having the frames fit with the latest Varilux progressive lens desing in brown transitions. I will let you know how I like them.

Of course, she doesn't know I am posting this. This is at the Latrobe Turkey Trot. We haven't posted on this blog lately because like all things, I forgot the password.

Soon, we will update the main website if I can remember the password. Unfortunately, the computer I use for that website is inacessible. It is in a roll top desk. My daughter locked the desk and promptly lost the keys. The kind folks at Roomfull Express are sending me another set of keys.

Bausch & Lomb halts US shipments of lens solution

Bausch & Lomb agreed to stop shipping its ReNu MoistureLoc brand contact lens solution in the United States after some users were diagnosed with a serious eye infection, the Food and Drug Administration said on Monday.
Bausch & Lomb suspended sales of all ReNu solutions in Singapore and Hong Kong in February after reports of similar infections, although the company later said that tests found no evidence to suggest its products were the cause.
The FDA said 109 preliminary reports of a rare fungal infection that may cause loss of vision had been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 17 U.S. states.
The agency said it was not aware of a direct link between the Fusarium fungus and any specific product, but in 26 cases so far, patients used Bausch & Lomb's ReNu MoistureLoc solution.
"We do not at this point have information that gives us a direct cause-and-effect link between any particular product or any particular action," Dr. Daniel Schultz, head of FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health, told reporters on a conference call.
